London-based healthy food-to-go specialist Junius has won a prestigious award for its ZEN Turmeric Coconut Yoghurt with Mango and Passionfruit Chia Jam breakfast pot this month.
The healthy food-to-go company also won two other prizes at the Nourish 2020 Awards.
Junius FAB Cashew Cheesecake with Blueberry was commended in the dessert category while the ZIP Red Pepper and Smoked Paprika Frittata was awarded Merit in the breakfast category.
This follows Junius receiving 12 accolades at the 2019 Nourish Awards including a double winner in two separate award categories.
The co-founders, three siblings, behind Junius which is based in Bermondsey London were announced as winners at the 2020 Nourish Awards which celebrates and honours the best new generation health foods in the UK.
This year’s awards gala was held online to announce the 2020 Nourish Awards winners (September 18). The host for the evening was chef, nutritionist and author Naomi Devlin. Categories included best snacks, purely plants, best raw and superfood and there were also awards for best ethical, best organic and the all-important innovation award.
“We are proud and delighted to have won this award. It’s been the culmination of a lot of hard work from our family during lockdown when we used this difficult time to really innovate and bring new products to market.
“Junius is committed to creating healthy food and drink products which are nutrient dense and are customised according to health goals. It’s humbling to be in the company of the other nominees and getting to know more about their products too,” said Maria King, co-founder of Junius.
The winners and runners up were judged by qualified and practising nutritionists and leaders in the food, drink and business sectors including Melissa Kuman nutritionist, Tim May of NOSH books, Gareth Hobbs MD of Visionary Food Solutions, Susan Hay founder of Thrive Magazine and Margarita Kalna founder of the successful Free-From Festival.

Diana Murphy, founder of the Nourish Awards, said the ZEN coconut yoghurt pot as “…breakfast perfection”.
“This year’s awards attracted a hight level of entries despite the current climate and a remote judging was held during May and June. The judges had a difficult job choosing the runners up and winners. All producers who entered the awards are paving the way to offering better, healthy eating choices. We should celebrate with great pride those who are putting their stamp on the healthy food industry.”
The Junius food-to-go offer is uniquely formulated, nutrient dense and helps people support their health goals on any given day.
Junius is different because the siblings start with the science and then build delicious recipes. This is possible because Maria, co-founder is a nutritionist and fully certified practitioner from the Institute for Functional Medicine.
Maria has taken the complexity of the science of food and sorted it into seven colour-coded pillars that represent health goals from ZIP to ZEN.
If your health goal is Resilience + Armour choose from our ZAP range. Tomorrow if the goal is Renew + Replenish, opt for FAB from the range – and if it later in the week it changes to Cleanse + Refresh choose SPA.
The seven pillars include:
• POW – strength + vitality
• ZEN – tranquillity + balance
• SPA – cleanse + refresh
• ZAP – resilience + armour
• ZIP – vigour + drive
• FAB – renew + replenish
• REV – ignite + burn
In 2019 Junius’ 12 Nourish Award wins recognized the food-to-go specialists range of nutrient packed cold-pressed juices, cold-pressed shots, healthy desserts and savoury snack pots and salads.
